Well, I seem to get good at updating this for a while, then I slack again :) Oh well, I am here for an update...
Life is goin good right now, we are keeping busy and I like that. Mason is finishing up Spring soccer this weekend with his last game, which my Dad is coming into town for the weekend to see, so that will be tons of fun for the boys :) I am also going to sign him up for summer t-ball. I cant wait to see him all done up for baseball, he will be so cute! hehe. I cant wait till Camden is old enough to start playing organized sports next year.
I cant believe Mason's first school year is about to come to an end...it seems like it just started! Plus, that means Camden will be attending his first year of pre-k next year! What happened to my babies???
In other news, James' carpel tunnel surgery went well and he is healing great! Hopefully he will be back to work soon, I think he is going a little stir crazy at home :) Work and just daily life should be less painful for him now that the surgery is done. We are hoping to be able to get his other hand done within the next 6 months or so and have him back to 100%.
We are all looking forward to the summer around here, Spring seemed to have drug on endlessly with rain and the sun seems to have come to make an appearance for more than a day at a time! It was an amazing 70+ degrees here today! We are looking forward to camping, riding bikes swimming and all the other things summer entails, PLUS it looks like my Grandparents will be coming into town for a few days at the end of June! SUPER EXCITED! I have not seen them since Cam was like 9mths old! That was the one and only time they have seen Cam and they have not seen Mason since the Christmas Cam was born, and they have not met James yet! So ya, very excited :)
The only thing we are sad about for this coming summer is that we wont be able to take Jon for the summer :( With various circumstances that are going on right now it is just not the right time...We are planning on taking him mid-December through mid-February instead, which will be awesome in other ways...we will have all three boys for Christmas for the first time PLUS we will have all of them on their birthdays! (December, January and February). So it will be awesome to actually get to throw Jon a birhtday for the first time and get birthday pics of all of them together!
Well, I think that is about it for now! Love ya guys!

Long week
It was a long week around here with both the boys sick. Mason was out of school for 4 days and ran a fever varying from 104, to lower grade, until sometime last night. Camden to had a fever, but his was more intermittent. Then Mason developed a cough and Cam's eyes got puffy and he sneezed like crazy for 2 days. No one slept well even with meds and I was up at least twice a night from Monday until last night, when finally they seemed to get better...literally, overnight! I put them both to bed with ibuprofen and night time meds to help with the coughing and sneezing and they both slept ALL night and woke with no fevers!!! And today they have felt fine! They still have some snot, but no fevers, no moaning and groaning, and they have played all day...granted not always nicely, because after 5 days of only seeing each other they are ready to play with friends. I totally second them on that too, I am ready to get out of this house and see someone who is not a Dr., which has been the only reason I have had to leave the house since Monday! So I am very happy they are feeling better and I am hoping to do something as a family tomorrow, since James has been working so much lately.

Slackin
I know I have been slackin on my 30 day challenge. I will pick it back up soon. The whole broken ankle thing has taken the wind out of my sails...I am tired, sore and getting anxious and depressed about sitting around all the time. I am hoping the Dr. gives me good news on Monday when I have more x-rays, and lets me off the crutches. If I can get off those I will actually be able to do things again, but not bearing any weight on one foot makes it really hard to do anything. Plus with the snow it makes the crutches really dangerous outside. So I have been inside and unable to do even household chores for like a week now and I am starting to go stir crazy and I feel bad for the people around me who are having to do everything around here on top of going to work. So pray that on Monday I get the word that I can go without the crutches and just go walking cast for the next few weeks!

Day 8
Picture of something that makes me laugh...Some of the pics I have that I love and always make me laugh are ones of Cam being, well, Cam. He is always so animated and everything he does he does all out and at full force. The summer of 2009 when we were in Ohio we visited my sisters Dad's farm and Cam LOVED all that out door freedom! He played in a mole hole and got so gross and dirty, but he had the time of his life!

Ya, that is how dirty he got...the "clean" part of those shorts is what was under his grimy little shirt :)

Day 2
A pic of my with someone I have been close with a while -
I chose to my sister, Peach :) We had our tough times when we were young, then when she was being a really dumb young adult, but now I love spending time with her and miss her like crazy! We always have fun together and she makes me laugh!
I chose 2 pics, the first one is of us after we had a little to much to drink at Dad's surprise party :) And the other is us with our Mom black Friday shopping in 2009.

Peaceful weekend
I am greatly looking forward to my weekend! It will be the longest one I have had to myself in a while and I am in need! :) Of course James will be home some of that time too, but I have a little list of stuff I want to get done that is just for me! I will be completely kid free by about 3:30 on Friday until at least Sunday evening, but possibly (hopefully) until Monday afternoon when the baby gets here because Guy may keep the boys until Monday night instead of Sunday night. I get to go scrap booking on Friday evening, then work on a few projects of mine that I have been wanting to get started. I will also be finishing my 101 in 1001 list and getting that blog updated for the kick-off of the project on the first. So, I am looking forward to my quiet, productive weekend and some good services on Sunday!

My New Years goal
So, I am not really a New Years resolution maker...think they are kinda silly and no one ever really keeps them anyways, but there was something about my life that needed a change this year and has been tugging on my heart for a few months now. It was a stronger relationship with God, not only for me but for my marriage and my family. So some things have been taking place around here to connect on a deeper level with Him and live according to His words.
I have started reading 'My Utmost for His Highest', this is the for me part. It is a book that has a passage every day that it focuses on and dives into the meanings and what it means for you. It is very eye opening, as the verses and the day are usually very spot on to what I am feeling that day or have been feeling recently. So it helps to shed light on things and brings understanding as well as conviction, which I always think is a good thing for someone looking to grow, stretch and improve themselves. I am really enjoying the book and look forward to what I continue to get from it through the year.
James and I bought a couples devotional bible, this is the for my marriage part, that we have started working through together. It too has something for every day. It focuses on a chunk of scripture, helps you weave your way through understanding it, then has questions for the two of us to discuss. It helps to make sure that we are talking about more than just the daily grind of kids, work, money, house and plans. It pushes us to talk about feelings and things that matter so we can know each other even better than we already do
For our family...there are a few things here. The first and foremost is our promise to tithe this year as the bible and God say to do. We started our year off with giving the first and best of our income. Our goal is to tithe our 10% off our income as well as to get more involved in our church/friends/community to grow as we need to. I want my children to grow up with a heart for helping other people and knowing they can rely on God for their needs and always turn to him, so my biggest desire in starting to do these things is to set an example for my boys.
James and I have also started attending a seminar at a friends church called 'The Truth Project'. It is 12 weeks of diving into the question of 'Do you really believe that what you believe is true?' It dissects how our culture plays such a huge role in what people see as truth today and helps you understand the bible and the things God has said. We had our first meeting on Sunday and the biggest thing I took from that night was an image that the man spoke about prayer. He said that if we really believed that what we believe is true then why does prayer sometimes not come first and seem like a chore? Because if we really believed that every time we pray we were going into God's house and He was there eagerly awaiting our conversation with open arms that it would never be a chore, it would in fact be something that we would never want to leave! And that is so true! If God were sitting there, right in front of me I would never leave, but really He always is there, we just cant see Him, but He even says that He is always with us, so in every trial, joy, struggle and wonder in my life I should be thanking Him, asking Him for help or celebrating with Him. Pray is not just for when we are at our end and have no where else to go or just for thanking Him for dinner every night or before bed, it is for EVERYTHING! I think that this will help our family too because it will help James and I understand our faith more and pass that onto the boys.
I am VERY much looking forward to this year and the blessing I KNOW that god has in store for us! Look for updates on here about the things we are leaving and how we are growing!
