Well, we had a successful Halloween night. We started out at 5, downtown. All the stores on Third stayed open, the streets were blocked and all the shop owners passed out candy. The fire fighters were there with 2 trucks, our local minor league baseball team (passing out tickets for next season), and some race car drivers. We went down there with my friend Stephanie and her boys, Aaron, Wyatt and Caleb. When we were done downtown we all went back to our house, had grilled cheese and tomato soup, then the boys got to Trick-or-Treat or neighborhood. All in all, a very successful, sugar induced evening of fun :)

I love fall!
And it is very pretty here! The trees that we do have around are changing gorgeous colors and dropping plenty of crunchy leaves. I am still in awe of fall on this side of the mountains, because everything stays dry! :) I took the boys to the park today, with some of their friends, to play in the leaves blanketing the grass, and they had so much fun! They were chilly, ready for dinner, and in need of baths by the time we were done.

Pumpkins galore
We spent the day preparing for Halloween today. We carved all our pumpkins and made our haunted candy house. It was a long, messy day, but Mason had a blast! We topped it off with some pizza and warm baths to get all the pumpkin goo and dried on frosting off the boys :)

Stomach bugs and kids
Not the greatest combination...Cam has been sick, with ALOT of messy diapers since Saturday and Mason has been off and off sick from then too...we did go to the pumpkin patch on Sunday, and I will get those pics up when I get a few bodily function free minutes :) I was close to taking Cam to the hospital last night because he had not ate, drank or urinated much through the day. Eventually I was able to get about 8 ounces of pedialite down him and he had 2 wet diapers, along with everything else...he will not eat much except his bottles, but I think he is turning the corner. Mason is ok, except right when he is getting sick, it was only twice yesterday, but he has to carry a big bowl with him where ever he goes today :) Mom and Dad are supposed to come this weekend, so I hope my kids get better...because i could really use their steam cleaner :) hehe

A peaceful evening in sight
Tonight is Parent Survival night at the gymnastics center where Mason takes classes. So from 5:30-10, you can drop off you kids for a measly $3 and hour and they can run around like crazy monkeys while you go out! I think it is incredible :) So, Mason will be going tonight, at 5:25, hehe :) We took him once before, and he comes home EXHAUSTED! He also has a blast, he loves being there and loves his coaches.
Then tomorrow when Guy gets off work we are headed to Spokane for the night. We tried to go to a pumpkin patch around here on Wednesday, and we really disappointed :( The only thing there was pumpkins, nothing fun for the kids to do. So we are going to go to Green Bluff on Sunday. Green Bluff, for those who don't know Spokane, is this area that has alot of family run farms, who grow lots of different crops. So you can drive around from farm to farm, or just stay at one, but they all have different stuff going on, such as the pumpkin cannon that fires giant pumpkins 100 of feet, corn mazes, bouncy houses, haunted houses, homemade foods, pumpkin picking, apple picking, horse drawn carriage rides and so on and so on. We have been twice before and always have a blast, so we decided to make the drive and go somewhere we know we will enjoy. Plus, by going into Spokane we also get to go to Sunday service at the church we are really missing, so that will be great too.

Still goin strong
It is now, 10 minutes after 11, and Mason has been crying in his room for 2 hours...I feel like a horrible parent to say the least. We put a childproof door handle on the inside of his door to keep him from opening it, in an attempt to make him learn to put himself to sleep...the first hour he screamed, then kicked at the door, made 3 separate potty excuses (he now has a little kid potty in there). He has let off the screaming and is now just on and off crying. I know he is so tired by now, but he is in front of the door and his light is on...now he is calling for me and saying that he wants to sleep with me...I hope my strength holds out through this.
I am trying to stay up till he goes to sleep, because I want to remove the handle once he is out, because he does still get up some through the night...I am hoping that once we get the bed time down that it will ease/stop the getting up in the middle of the night, but right now I do now want him crying in there in the middle of the night, because he doe easily go back to sleep for those...anyway, wish me luck and sleep...

What to do?
As alot of you know, we have always had some sleep issues with Mason, and I am SSSOOO done with them! Some nights he will get in and out of bed up to like 10 times before he will finally fall asleep! (we only talk to him the first 2 times, then say nothing, just put him back in bed, cover him and leave). Then he will get up at LEAST once, but up to 5 or some times during the night. He goes right back to sleep, but he still wakes Guy or I up and wants tucked back in. It is so frustrating because no one is really getting a decent nights sleep...we have a bed time routine, it involves p.j.'s, teeth, reading, potty and kisses. So he knows exactly what is coming. I talked to his pediatric an today, and what he suggested is basically locking Mason in his room for a week or 2 and just letting his scream if he needs to, so that he can learn to self soothe himself back to sleep and learn how to pull his own blankets up if he needs them, he says that the first few nights he may end up sleeping on the floor because that is where he passes out, but after a few nights he will get into his bed...I am not really sure how I feel about this, but I know SOMETHING has got to change...any and all thoughts/suggestions welcome! Help!

Nights alone
Well, Guy is Seattle again for school. Usually the boys and I are able to go over with him and visit, however we were just there for more school. The only good thing about him going, is that it is his first session as a second year apprentice! Which means a $2/hr pay raise for us! Whoo! Hoo! Anyways, we are not there because Mason would be missing to much school, seeing as how it looks like Cam and I are going to Florida the beginning of November! So Mason will stay in Spokane with Gary and Dodi...
as to the title of this entry, I don't like staying alone...I know that I am a grown women of 25 with 2 kids, but I would still rather have my hubby, or at least someone else, at home with me through the night. So tonight I will be sleeping with Mason in my bed and Cam in the pack-n-play in the room with us. For some reason I like them close when it is just me home. Tomorrow Dodi is supposed to come in to see us for a few days,so that should ease some of my evening jitters.

The earthquake...
that apparently hit just my garage (because it has looked AWFUL since we moved in) is going to cleaned up after next week. It looks like Guys mommy is going to come in for a few days, hurray!, and I am going to get that garage under control while she is here playing with the boys. I am so glad that she is coming, I miss her! I also think, hope, am crossing my fingers adn praying for, that my mommy and daddy get to come out this month too.
In other news, I am planning to have a little kids Halloween party here! I am excited, I am going to do crazy little foods, games and decorations, then they will all get to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood. It will take me a while (and a trip to my storage unit in Spokane for my Halloween stuff) to get it all planned and ready, but I am starting this weekend, adn I am looking forward to it. If anyone has seen, or knows any cute/fun ideas let me know about them!
